Celebrating the achievements of cutting edge technology innovation!
Ramp RFID Solutions has been nominated for the 2015 iAwards for our iQuery RFID Asset Tracking System. For over 20 years the iAwards has been recognising and celebrating the achievements and innovation made in ICT across all areas of the economy.
The iAwards provides the platform to discover, recognise and reward ICT innovations that have the potential to, or are already significantly impacting the community.
Ramp was nominated for one of our most successful solutions; iQuery. iQuery is a stand-alone RFID asset tracking system designed to provide real-time location and status visibility of large assets.
Designed using Microsoft technologies, with an ASP.Net web front-end and SQL database backend, it is hosted on Microsoft Azure, Microsoft’s enterprise-grade cloud computing platform.
“When we were scoping out our RFID project we decided on a cloud solution because it was cheaper and easier,” explains Dene Ladmore, Eastern Regional Manager for Patrick Ports & Stevedoring. “With the cloud we did not have to incur any sizeable up front hardware or software costs. We also eliminated the need for potentially complex integration with our own IT systems, which would have been prohibitive both in terms of money and time.”
Ramp has implemented iQuery hosted on Azure for clients such as the Patrick Corporation for simplicity and cost effectiveness.
“In today’s increasingly demanding global markets, businesses need to stay competitive with innovative technologies like RFID that facilitates smarter, leaner business processes,” said Venkat Gattamneni, Group Product Marketing Manager, Microsoft Azure. “Utilizing a platform like Azure enables access to real-time information as needed.”
The nomination for iQuery highlights the acceptance of RFID technology in the Australian market and Ramp is proud to be facilitating this acceptance.
