Ramp is a premium preferred supplier of an extensive range of passive and active RFID tags, readers and antennas to suit a multitude of specific requirements. Our team of experienced professionals will work with you to determine the most suitable components for your requirements.
RFID tags are typically placed on objects such as assets, inventory, vehicles or people in order to uniquely identify them or track their movement. RFID tags generally contain an RFID chip (integrated circuit or IC) and an antenna. The chip is used to store and process information as well as to modulate the radio frequency signal. The antenna is used to receive and transmit the signal.
We use two fundamentally different technologies, Active RFID and Passive RFID. Both use radio frequency to communicate between a tag and a reader but the method of powering the tags is quite different. Active RFID tags contain a battery to transmit signals autonomously (beacon) or in response to a message (response), whereas Passive RFID tags receive all of their power* from an external RFID reader, allowing the tag to “wake up” and transmit data.
RFID READERS & ANTENNAS
RFID Readers are devices that provides the connection between the tag data and the enterprise system software that needs the information. RFID readers and reader antennas work together to read tags.
Just as there are numerous types of RFID Tags available for different requirements, there are also various types of RFID readers and antennas suited to a multitude of applications. Businesses can leverage RFID readers to perform a series of functions that can best take advantage of data captured from RFID tagged assets.
From Fixed Reader Portals & Enclosures, Forklift Readers to Desktop, Conveyor and Handheld Readers, Ramp offer a diverse range of RFID readers to suit all your applications.
RFID Printers simultaneously allow you to print and encode RFID tags with an Electronic Product Code (EPC). Ramp has a range of high-performance RFID printers that deliver superior flexibility, high print speeds, and high media roll capacity.
